An indicator lamp (or indicator light) is an illuminated device that is intended to visually convey a single status to the user of a piece of equipment. Indicator lamp may refer to: Check engine light, a tell-tale warning light in automobiles. Tell-tale (automotive), a more generic class of indicators. Indicator lights are used to make the operating status (on, off, fault) of the device on which they are installed visible from the outside by means of a small light. Direction indicator lights or turn signals, informally known as directional signals, directionals, blinkers, or indicators, are blinking lights mounted near the left and right front and rear corners of a vehicle, and sometimes on the sides or on the side mirrors of a vehicle (where they are called repeaters)
