An on-off delay timer is an electrical device that provides both on-delay and off-delay functions. It's used in industrial and commercial applications to control the timing of switching operations. This type of timer is essentially a combination of two common types of timers: the on-delay timer and the off-delay timer. On-Delay Timer (TON) An on-delay timer, also known as a 'delay-on-make' timer, introduces a delay between the activation of an input signal and the subsequent activation of an output signal. Function: When the input signal is received, the timer starts a countdown. The output remains inactive until the preset time has elapsed. Once the time is up, the output is energized. When the input signal is removed, the timer and its output turn off immediately. ⏱️ Application: On-delay timers are useful for applications where you need to prevent a process from starting immediately. For example, they can be used to delay the start of a motor to prevent a sudden inrush of current or to allow other components to stabilize before a machine begins operation. Off-Delay Timer (TOF) An off-delay timer, also known as a 'delay-on-break' timer, delays the deactivation of an output signal after the input signal is removed. Function: When the input signal is received, the output is activated immediately. When the input signal is removed, the timer starts a countdown. The output remains energized for the preset time. After the time has elapsed, the output is de-energized. Application: Off-delay timers are used when a device needs to continue running for a set period after the input is turned off. A common example is a cooling fan that needs to run for a few minutes after a motor shuts down to prevent overheating. 🌬️ An on-off delay timer combines these functions, allowing for precise control over both the start-up and shutdown sequences of a system. This versatility makes it ideal for automated systems that require specific, timed operations to prevent damage, ensure safety, and improve efficiency. Precise Timing: From 0.1 Seconds to 10 Hours, Delay Activations/Deactivations as Needed On/Off Flexibility: Choose Between On-Delay or Off Delay Modes Heavy-Duty Output: Control Devices with a Single 5A SPDT (2-C/O) Relay at 230V AC Universal Power: Adapts to Various Supplies- 12-240V DC or 20-240V AC
